Thematic Oil Painting April 3, 2012
1. Evalutate: What are the good/ strong parts of your painting? What is done well? Why?
I feel my stong parts of my painting are the blending of the colors, because it shows the different colors and areas.
2. What so you think you could have done better on the painting? Why?
I think I could have put more detail into my painting, I fell there isn't much to look at.
3. Analyze the attributes of your theme/unity: What is the theme that you created & how did you do so? Why did you shoose the theme?
The theme I created was nature, I choose this theme because I enjoy mother nature.
4. Analyze your use of emphasis: What parts of your painting stand out most to you? How did you get those areas to stand out?
I think the middle of my flower stand out the most. The bleading and the peace sign!
5. Analyze your use of movement: How do your eyes move around the painting to the different points of emphasis? What do you notice first, second, third? Predict the order that you think others will view the different points of emphasis.
My eyes start at the center of the flower then to the end of the flower, then to the background. I feel that others may view it the same.
6. Metacognate(think about thinking): What did you learn from this project that you could apply to other projects in the future? What lessons could be applied to life in general? Why?
I learned that not every thing is going to trun out the way I planned or the way I would like. I could apply this to life by knowing not everything is going to be perfect!
7. Evaluate the design of your painting: Why did you do it the way you did? Was It planned? What is by Chance? Did it trun out the way you thought in the begining-Why or why not? Elaborate.
I didn't really plan on it truning out the way it did, I thought it would have more color and detail.
8. Evaluate this project: Is this worthwhile project? What do you think about usign this material? What should Mr. Purdy do to this project in the future to make it even better? Why?
I really didn't care for this project, it was messy and really hard to paint. I think you should do this project, it cost a lot for the paint and was messy.
I feel my stong parts of my painting are the blending of the colors, because it shows the different colors and areas.
